With each succeeding example, it becomes decreasingly likely that this was all mere coincidence, or an accident of fate, as the religious establishment would like us all to believe."

Just consider this:

Jesus' birthday was NOT celebrated on the 25th of December until after his purported death, if celebrated at all. It was much later when the Romans replaced the Feast of Saturnalia with a celebration of Jesus' birth. How can it have existed without such a celebration and awe for sol as this article seems to purport?

Consider this:

If there were '16 crucified saviors' etc., why is it not possible for example that they were all the same individual re-incarnated? I'm not saying I think it was; but why not?

Of course, there have been an estimated 291,661,281 people born on Dec. 25th in the history of the world. The Kabbalists conjecture there are several messiahs on the earth at any one time. Your assertion leaves out all the people born on other days that have been claimed as saviors, and leaves out the other possibilities of worship in animism. Certainly, there has been worship based on the sun and moon. So too, on lions, rivers, and trees in the ancient times of pre-history is possible and as likely. It is non sequitur to say that all religion is based solely on astrotheology would need much more evidence than is presented here. Not to mention the scientific suggestion that God is hard-wired into our brain. My Name is Still Nobodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04850691431078980626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15872122.post-1170096718445088022007-01-29T13:51:00.000-05:002007-01-29T13:51:00.000-05:00it occurs to me as I read your article, that the h...it occurs to me as I read your article, that the human mind is amazing in it's creativity. If you think about anything in depth, one can come up with the most fantastic tales that seem to be possible. You say the proof is in the reading. That's totally absurd. The only possible proof there could be is if the reporter was present to the experience. All other is supposition - including the stories in the Bible, etc. The Truth lies within each of us and if we actually did delve deep inside and were honest about ALL that is there (the Light and the Dark or the Sun and the Moon as you write) we would find THE TRUTH. To me everything else is a play/dance/lila of the mind as yet another distraction of the mind to keep us away from discovering the Real Truth from within.
--Thanks for your creativity and another interesting distraction.BUT, MAKING CLAIMS THAT THIS IS THE TRUTH gives you away as a charlatan.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
