You are certainly correct that Christ spent time with morally degenerate folks, but this in no way means that he engaged in like behavior. Remember that his interactions with sinful folk ended with "go and sin no more" not an endorsement of or conformation to their lifestyle. The school's position is to promote a lifestyle of conformity to scripture. Having a rule such as the one prohibiting students from attending a secular prom is a measure of safeguarding not only the individual, but also the reputation of the school. Many organizations have similar rules. For example: I am a deputy sheriff. My sheriff has made it an informal policy that his deputies are not to frequent bars in our jurisdiction, to do so may result in unemployment. The need for the policy exists because of the decisions of a few foolish individuals. The same principle can be applied to the prom. BTW, I went to the prom in violation of my school's policy (don't ask, don't tell). I also worked as a school resource officer at our county's largest high school. I can say from personal experience and observation that not much good happens either at the prom or after the prom. The school has good reason for their policy. To liken King David's dancing before the Lord to what is passed off as "dancing" at the prom is way off base. I seriously doubt King David had females grinding on each of his legs to a tambourine playing Britney Spears' "Womanizer" or "If you seek Amy." Perhaps an alternative to prom would be in order - something that actually promoted something other than a supervised dash to third base in public. The school I went to had a Jr/Sr formal banquet, I would have like to have seen them take it a step farther with, dare I say it...ballroom dancing?Marchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07971767806396556026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15872122.post-7891086182075962672009-06-28T11:49:44.050-04:002009-06-28T11:49:44.050-04:00Heads up, Michael Jackson might have faked his dea...Heads up, Michael Jackson might have faked his death. This is not really a Masonic website but a site used to demoralize and persecute christians. This is being done under the guise of promoting a fraternity that I have long been proud to be a member of. I would not be too terribly surprised to find that the webmater is actually an islamic radicalist. Keep your drivel to yourself and leave real masonry out of your attempts to demonize Christianity.
Tim L. The parents and student signed up knowing what the rules were. Now that they don't like the rules, they refuse to accept the consequences. Instead, they were likely called the TV station to put a little public pressure on the school.

Got to give credit for the principal to stick to his principles despite the heat.

Hey fellows, what about standing up for virtue and morality? You may not like the school's brand of virtue, but I hope you're even less likely to like that of the parents and students.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01649354216045601769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15872122.post-44756822699101022562009-05-28T20:57:09.582-04:002009-05-28T20:57:09.582-04:00This is well and good if that boy, Tyler [or every...This is well and good if that boy, Tyler [or every teenager] will not go out into the world and would just stay in this myopic world of principal Tim.

But this is a world where there are young teenage girls, alcohol and drugs [and dancing too!].
