No...I don't think it's Christianity itself. None of the teachings of Christ point to these kinds of actions. Rather, it is more of extremism that causes these things to happen. People of any faith or belief do crazy things when they look past the mark. I feel sorry for this family and the negative light they portray.Ephraimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08218383700981818763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15872122.post-44345585881666424452010-03-09T18:37:21.815-05:002010-03-09T18:37:21.815-05:00Thanks for the story. It's both upsetting and revolting to see so many parents abusing their children, and abusing them to death, since they claim to be followers of He Who encouraged little children to come to Him "for such are the Kingdom of Heaven".

In a related vein, I'd also like to post a link relating to another death caused by someone who follows the "teachings" of "Christian Counselor" Michael Pearl, who encourages whipping children with plumbing pipe to "break their spirits for Christ".

http://www.truecrimereport.com/2010/02/kevin_and_elizabeth_schatz_rel.php

I'm sorry, but this makes my blood boil when hearing about such things.freddohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16674843366955225381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15872122.post-64115457936271919422010-03-03T23:00:15.198-05:002010-03-03T23:00:15.198-05:00And then tell me what it is about Christianity tha...And then tell me what it is about Christianity that brings out the crazy in so many people?

I'll be interested to see if anyone has the answer. I ask myself this same question, daily. Here is one from a local paper (this particular article doesn't go into great detail, but others have indicated there several exorcisms practiced over the 'teen' to drive the devil out and draw Christ back into her.)

http://www.azfamily.com/news/local/Father-step-mom-arrested-for-allegedly-locking-teen-girl-in-bathroom-for-weeks-84022417.html

If her parents or the parents of baby Javon are any indication of what is considered "Christlike", bring on the debbil, I say.

Bat shit crazee.sparrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08838935957994302879noreply@blogger.com
