The Burning Taper offers its condolences to Bro. Randy Reddick of Deerfield Beach, Florida, in the aftermath of the tragic accidental shooting death of his 11-year old son by his 10-year old son last Saturday, Feb. 28.As the father of an 11-year old, I find this senseless accident particularly heartbreaking.
Bro. Reddick had sent his sons to his truck to get the Masonic tophat and topcoat he had worn earlier in the day in the Sistrunk Historical Festival parade in Fort Lauderdale. Blood inside the hat indicates his son may have been wearing the tophat when his younger brother accidentally shot him.
