Freemason weds on Halloween

Weddings and marriage can be scary enough.

On Halloween, Pottsville, Pennsylvania Masonic Bro. Michael Crenshaw married his sweetheart Loretta A. Mestishen in a spooky ceremony conducted by Bro. George Hook.

Spiders climbed the walls, black wreaths adorned the doors, and the pet collie wore a black bow tie. The bride, dressed in black leather, had a ring adorned with a spider, slipped onto her finger.

The bride and groom figures atop the cake were skeletons.

"It's a creative way to capture the very festive spirit of Halloween without being gruesome," Loretta's uncle John Woznisky, who dressed as a court figure from the renaissance era, said. "It's a bit unconventional, but I think Loretta and Michael are so creative that it suits them perfectly."

A Masonic touch was added: guests were given the opportunity to decorate skulls. It's unclear if they drank blood, wine or fruit punch from them.
