'Masonic Central' podcast to feature Bro. Tim Bryce

Brothers Greg Stewart of the blog Masonic Traveler and Dean Kennedy of the blog Freemason's Corner have been busy behind the scenes putting together a new Masonic podcast program and accompanying website called Masonic Central.

I was privileged to sit in and listen to their inaugural first official podcast presentation a couple of weeks ago. In that podcast, Bros. Greg and Dean interviewed Bro. Fred Milliken, also known as Squire Bentley.

This Sunday's podcast (Father's Day, June 15) will feature an interview with Bro. Tim Bryce, a well-known online Masonic writer and fellow pot-stirrer. Bro. Bryce's column From the Edge appears regularly on Bro. Stewart's FreemasonInformation site.

For more information on how tune into the 9 p.m. (ET) podcast every other Sunday, or to listen to the recording afterwards, check out the official Masonic Central website.

Anti-Mason denies being an anti-Mason

A few weeks ago I made note of Masonic Traveler's recent interview with the blog TruthLoveFreedom.org, which was posted as a podcast. My article was titled "Masonic Traveler gives anti-Masons an earful."

The next day, the blogmaster of TruthLoveFreedom.org posted an entry decrying my having called him an anti-Mason.

His denial of being an anti-Mason included these words: "I have and will continue to treat the topic of Freemasonry with fairness by allowing rebuttals to my claims, but I won't pretend that the organization is benevolent in any way."

I noticed his denial post at the time, but didn't really consider his denial noteworthy enough to post about it.

Another blogger, Bro. Robert Fischer, did find it worth discussing. His posts, and the responses by Karl, the deny-er and podcaster who interviewed Masonic Traveler, make for interesting reading. Click on over to Enfranchised Mind and join the conversation.

Audio podcast of 'A Tour of the Masonic Lodge'

I've been asked by a couple of readers to produce some of my Masonic lectures and articles as audio podcasts. I began that project last night.

You can now listen to "A Tour of the Masonic Lodge," which is a lecture based on W. L. Wilmshurst's book The Meaning of Masonry, discussing some of the symbols in a lodge, including the great and lesser lights, the officers' stations, and the checkerboard floor. I originally delivered this talk to my blue lodge in April, 2005, and posted it on The Burning Taper in February, 2006.

I'll be adding more podcasts as time allows. Keep your eye on the righthand menu bar for new audio material.
