All's right with the world

"Men are disturbed not by things that happen, but by their opinions of the things that happen." — Epictetus (55-135)

On this day of turkeys, football games and public prayers, I hope you'll realize, and be thankful that — despite all the apparent turmoils of life — all is right with the world.
The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven —
All's right with the world.

— Robert Browning (1812-1889)

  1. Happy Thanksgiving! My wish is that we all recognize what we have to be thankful for, and have a wonderful day! I am thankful for my lodge brothers and the exciting growth we have seen recently. My hope is that the growth continues. With diligence, it will.

  2. Amen brother, all IS right in the world! Best wishes to you and yours, Many thanks to you for giving all of us a place to intelligently discuss issues within and without the lodge. Thank you Widow's Son and keep on being opinionated, It keeps everyone engaged in thought (which is something that is far lacking in this world).

  3. Dear Brethren the world over,

    I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the musical talent or work of
    Brother Howie Damron, who has been promoting Freemasonry through song and
    has now released his second CD with many Masonic titles on it, and he's
    really good.

    He has written me asking if our Lodge, or any of your lodges would host him
    in concert as part of his "Masonic Pride Tour" that he is now embarking on,
    and he would like to come to your home town in the coming year to hold a
    concern, which you can invite both our Brethren and non-Masons too in order
    to help him spread the message of the value of our Fraternity through his
    songs, and hopefully help him sell some CDs to support his family and also
    bring back a sense of Pride in our walk as Men and Masons. I support him
    fully, having copies of both his latest CD 'Hiram's Call' and his newest CD
    I have on order.

    To find out more about him, please visit his new website at
    Howies Masonic Pride where you'll hear part of the first song
    on his CD "Hiram's Call", and he's a really a great Brother.

    I ask you all as my brethren to consider hosting Howie Damron at your lodge
    for a concert to promote the Fraternity and its greatness as part of his
    "Masonic Pride Tour" that he is commencing in Florida on the 9th of
    December.

    You could make these events a public venture, and maybe he would make a
    great impression if invited to do a concert in the open public during his
    time in your town?

    I thank you, dear Brethren, for your consideration of this dear brother's
    great work, as he is a national representative of the Scottish Rite,
    Southern Jurisdiction, and is now being displayed on the Grand Lodge of
    Ohio's website and on the AASR, SJ website as well. Find more information
    about him at the Scottish Rite site found here:
    Info on Howie from the Scottish Rite

    I hope both of you will consider including a concert by Bro. Howie Damron in
    your upcoming plans as representatives of your respective local lodges in
    the coming year. It would be a great way to practice what Bro. Damron calls
    the "Successful Art of Gathering" and as he has recently requested, "Let's
    set a show date there at your lodge for the "Masonic Pride Tour" which has
    had me in 40 states this year and I will be in Florida on the 9th performing
    for the Brothers and the show was set up by the Freemasons who work at the
    NASA Space Center down there.
    God Bless you Brother Eric
    Howie Damron
    Musical Ambassador of Freemasonry"
