Halcyon Charities is already discussing having another talk by Bro. Jeff Peace this fall. The talk will be about Masonic symbolism and compare and contrast the symbols used today with those of the early speculative Craft in the 1730’s. After the success of the first talk in April of this year this may turn into a series of talks by Bro. Peace and other knowledgeable Freemasons.
Halcyon Lodge No. 498 is an old lodge that has converted to the traditional observance format due to the increasing demand among younger Masons for this type of lodge. As a part of this they are actively promoting Masonic education and the more enlightened Masonic views of the original Freemasons. They believe this is the model for the future of Freemasonry in America and have begun working with progressive Masonic leaders such as Bro. Peace in hopes of creating a regional Masonic center for traditional Freemasonry in the Midwest.

Shoot. If I can get the time off, I just might go and see this.
ReplyDeleteHas Brother Peace thought about taking his show on the road in the tradition of Masonic lecturers of old(e)?

He's been invited by several lodges around the country to give talks. If you're interested in having him give a talk at your lodge you should contact him.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long it will be before the GL of Ohio lays the smack down on Halcyon? I mean they cannot let real Masonry continue in the land of the ODC, now can they? :P
ReplyDeleteI would think the Grand Lodge of Ohio would be very proud of the brothers at Halcyon for all they've accomplished.
ReplyDeleteIt would unwise for the Grand Lodge to mess with Halcyon. The charity is "the real deal" to help inner city youth and local arts. The PR of this work will be great for Ohio City and the Grand Lodge of Ohio... A win for Halcyon Charities and the Grand Lodge of Ohio...
